Unique to us in the UK.
(Modern Shrub) The superb, bright yellow, double blooms of this small shrub rose open up to display a coronet of amber coloured anthers. They are borne in clusters continuously throughout the summer. Leaves healthy and mid green. Useful for mass planting.
We are delighted to have introduced this excellent yellow rose for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People who celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2007. The name was suggested by a local vet, Paul Jarman.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a national charity that trains dogs, to alert severely and profoundly deaf people to everyday household sounds. Launched at Crufts in 1982, HRH The Princess Royal has been its Patron since 1992.
The dogs alert their deaf owners by touching them with a paw then leading them to the source of the sound. For danger sounds such as the smoke alarm , they touch and then drop to the floor. Recipients also benefit from the increased confidence and independence their hearing dogs bring.
Around 70% of dogs selected come from rescue centres or are unwanted pets, from a wide range of breeds, crossbreeds and mongrels. The Charity receives no government funding, and relies solely on the generosity of the public for donations. Hearing dogs are free to applicants. Unique to us in the UK.
